ICPADS is thrilled to share some exciting events happening in July, each one offering unique opportunities to support our homeless shelter. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or new to our community, these events provide a chance to have fun, meet fellow supporters, and make a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Here’s what we’ve got lined up for you!

Round Up for ICPADS at Kabelin’s Ace Hardware (July 3-9)
The first event is a partnership with Kabelin’s Ace Hardware, and will happen at all three of their LaPorte County, Indiana locations from July 3rd through July 9th. When checking out, cashiers at these locations will give you the option to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar, with the extra change going directly to support ICPADS. This is a simple way to donate and make a difference–and who doesn’t love shopping at Kabelin’s? We encourage everyone in the area to make a visit to these stores during the week!

- 432 St John’s Rd, Michigan City, IN 46360

Dollars for Dogs Fundraiser at Michigan City’s Kabelin’s Ace Hardware (July 8)
Next up, we have our “Dollars for Dogs” fundraiser on July 8th, taking place at the Michigan City Kabelin’s Ace Hardware location (432 St John’s Rd, Michigan City, IN 46360).
From 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, we invite you to come out, meet our team, and enjoy a freshly grilled hot dog. It’s a great way to have some summer fun while supporting our work at ICPADS. We look forward to seeing you there!
3rd Annual Uptown Social 5K (July 13)
Finally, we have the 3rd Annual Uptown Social 5K on July 13th, taking place at 907 Franklin Street, Michigan City, IN 46360. Registration is $25 (or $30 if you want a t-shirt!) and the 5K Run/Walk event starts at 6:30 pm.
This family-friendly event allows participants to discover the Uptown Arts District and enjoy the beautiful landscape of Washington Park. After the race, awards will be presented to top performers in each age category. Participants can also cool off at the indoor “cool off” station, grab a free healthy snack, and adults 21+ can enjoy the courtyard beer garden and/or indoor private lounge.
A portion of the proceeds raised from this event will benefit ICPADS, further supporting our efforts to deliver temporary emergency shelter, food, and other resources to the homeless men, women, and children in our community.
